On your cell phone, do you have a generic ringtone or do you use a piece of real music has the ringtone?

"Ride On", one of the best from AC/DC.

I got tired of paying for ringtones every time I got a new phone so I just go with a generic one. When I did use music I used Tubular Bells from The Exorcist or Hells Bells by AC/DC.

2

I use pieces of music or cartoon clips for people in my contact list who are so important to me, I want to know they are calling, just by sound.

2

Mine is music. The theme from the movie "Halloween."

I have the same ringtone as everyone else with an Apple phone. When you hear THAT ring in the store and everyone reaches for their pocket - I’m one of those people.

I assign individual ringtones to some of my contacts in addition to generic ringtones. They are all real songs.

When my kids were still minors and I had to deal with my ex often enough to have her in my contacts; there was a certain chorus from an Elton John song....

I have no idea how to add a custom, musical ringtone to my smartphone.

"How do I check my voice messages?" I asked at the T-Mobile store, confounded with my new phone.

"You need an app for that," the clerk replied.

" Which app do I download?" I asked, thinking:

Why on Earth do I need a special app to listen to my voicemails? This is insane. My old phone was much easier.

Generic ringtone, but I don't know if I could change it to music if I wanted to.

I use an old fashion ringtone from my landline days. Since everyone else has some shitty, irritating, or silly song, mine stands out, and is easy to recognize.

If it does not sound like a phone it never dawns on me it is a phone. Seriously I can be walking in the woods wondering where the music is coming from without the slightest inkling it might be a phone.

My world view must be a lot like a musical. people just walking down the street singing with a full orchastra accomaniment. I should note I often play the banjo on my walk to work, I might as well practice while I am walking.

My ringtone sounds as close as possible to the ringtone of a classic rotary landline... Sometimes it's the only way I can know someone is actually calling me!

used to be generic...because i had a dumb phone (that i miss horribly btw)
then got a "smart" phone...and found "ring tone maker" and have allllll sorts of rings & notification sounds now. Easy & fun to make.
There are a lot of goat people & cartoon effects going on atm.
My girl gets the coolest one of course...

I have about a dozen that I rotate in and out. Right now it's the Motorhead cover of Sympathy for the Devil.
