Main page layout evolution

You'll now see a gold button if you have new group posts since the last time you went to the "my group posts" page. This is preparation of us toggling off the "my group posts" feed on the main page sometime in the next few days. That is, we'll make a a toggle so if you want it, you'll need to choose it in your settings (we'll make a link to it later). Note: posts from groups where you're a member will now show up in the general forum and will be identify by the group name and a little gold check mark to signify that you're a member. The primary goal is to help simplify the main page to encourage more participation. As a tech person, I tend to keep adding features and have to resist making things too complicated.

OTBS today my feed seems to be mostly free of spammy garbage from the groups/people that @zster is referring to (I think). I hope it sticks, because it's much better.

So, what about groups we do not belong to? Is the default going to be not seeing them on the general page, or seeing them? Will we be able to turn off viewing of groups we are not wanting to follow? There definitely are some that I am not interested in reading about. I prefer a streamlined approach, if possible.

nope, only groups you're a member of.

@Admin Seems like members might WANT to see groups they are interested enough to join, while not having to see groups that they strongly want not to join. Sort of backward. Thanks for the explanation, though! (:
