If you look near the "What's on your mind?" section on the main page, you'll see a button with a chart icon and an number. This will show some site activity stats. We get a lot of questions about how many members we have so felt it was easier just to let you know. (thanks @paul1967 for being the last person to ask!).
As you may know, we're a non-profit that advertises and runs this website to help promote the goodness of non-belief. As it's costly to advertise, we would like to encourage you to help build the community not only by your participation but by telling others about what we're trying to do here at Agnostic.com - to highlight and support the growing number of people who are good without gods.
Exactly what does "in the last week" mean? Last 7 days? Including or not including today?
I'm also curious as to what online actually means. Just logged-in? Logged-in and x minutes since last activity (at the very least a site refresh)?
Last week means last 7 days from NOW. Online now means loaded a page in the last hour. If you want to estimate how many in the last 10 minutes, just cut the hour number in half. Divide the number by 4 to get how many clicks on a page in the last 2 minutes.
Thanks for doing this. I wasn't sure if you could do this or not on here. Stats are so important when it comes to facts so people can actually see for themselves how this all works.
Wow, 64,000 (and counting) messages this week. I got all of one of them...from a fake profile. cue sad slide whistle
Is there really a fake profile on here?
@kensmile4u I don't know for sure, but his profile pinged my bullshit radar. I think I've honed it pretty well after a few years of online dating. Some of his red flags - claimed to be 38 but looked at least late 50s, joined in February but still a level 2, and a very brief profile that was oddly worded.
