The trouble is that if you remove censorship with respect to nudity, people invariably start pushing the boundaries into cyberflashing and amateur porn. I was on a nudist group on Facebook that branched out onto MeWe to avoid Facebook's draconian policing of nudity. The close-ups of body parts (specifically penises, in various states of engorgement) outnumbered what I'd call actual naturist/nudist pictures (unaroused full body nudes, for example) by a good 3 to 1.
The trouble really is that you have to draw the line somewhere, and the easiest place to draw the line, that satisfies most people's sensibilities (given that most people are not nudists) without getting too bogged down into ifs and buts, is to just prohibit any display of the established sexual body parts. Something which modern Western society seems to take to encompass male and female genitals, and female nipples.
Your points are very well made.
It is a shame that a small number of people can ruin things so easily for the rest of us by pushing boundaries and crossign the line.
