That is true. I just read in local news that one quarter of Americans feel very, very lonely. So, there are lots of us. I have a few close friends but wish I had more of a support system. But it is a massive problem.

Loneliness can kill. Extreme loneliness that is. Many people are now dying alone, there is a term for it in Japan, Kodokushi. It okay to be introvert. I am introvert and I think a group with introverts and extroverts bring certain balance. Can be boring in a group where everybody is so similar. It wonderful to have differences. Loneliness is different from solitude, where an Introvert needs to recharge it energy after being with people and the introvert feels more productive and energized in solitude doing activities, while loneliness is state of mind where you feel alone and not cared for. Different things, introversion and solitude are healthy for the mind and body, but loneliness, leads to depression, risk of dying younger.

Well, now I've got another thing going against me. At least my cats reduce that by a third.
