In complete contrast to yesterday’s post of a-ha performing their official 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympic Games song Shapes That Go Together, today I’m featuring frontman and lead vocalist Morten Harket paying trubute to Sam Cooke, “the king of soul” and leading American civil rights activist, whom Morten greatly admired. Sam Cooke sadly died in 1963 at the young age of 33, but he left a legacy of great music, many of his songs becoming international hits posthumously.
Morten Harket has been an advocate and activist for human rights and other humanitarian causes for many years and is a Norwegian ambassador for UNICEF. - A Change Is Gonna Come - Morten Harket, 1995 (Sam Cooke cover)…
