Two current major league teams were originally the Washington Senators. The original Senators moved to Minneapolis in 1960 to become the Minnesota Twins. An expansion team, also named the Senators replaced them in Washington DC in 1961. In 1972, that Senators team moved to Arlington and became the Texas Rangers.
