Woo Hoo! No more private ownership of big cats.
We needed a law like that here in the USA a long time ago, with stronger laws against poaching.
What are they going to do with all the big cats now in possession of private "collectors"?
Very good question. The sanctuaries have been overflowing for a long time as zoos won't take them and many people can't handle them once they reach adulthood. They can't be released into the wild either. A sad story with an even sadder ending.
It won't put an end to the sanctuaries that are run as charities. The sanctuaries are a double edged sword as they will be needed more than ever now. My hope is that they will not allow any breeding to occur as it did in the one I volunteer at years ago.

Posted by LaurenIt's my first grand's fifth Gotcha Day and this is her in the arms of my daughter as they drove home.
