When I first came here I thought I would find a place with people that had more of an open mind to politics. Or should I say smart mind? It became obvious fairly quickly that wasn't the case. I've been around the block with a hand full of conservatives since coming here, they come and go fairly quickly. But then I did block 2 of them a while back, so maybe they're still here. Anyways. There's a new post today on rating the news sources by a chart, left or right leaning that's been put out since 2014 I think it is. But as I read through the comments it's very discouraging how many people follow only left centered news sources that are so damaging towards managing perception. I get it, the right side does the same. But here, do these people actually think being left is what makes the country better? I've recently lost any sense of hope for our country. If the last election cycle wasn't enough to bring us together to realize what our MSM news sources are engaged in with the establishment, what the fuck will? For fucks sake, our country is headed towards a nationalistic fascism and the establishment left politicians are allowing it to happen just the same. And we have a vast majority of people who support these dam people like they are oblivious to it happening!?! Do they not pay attention to how these politicians vote with the right, how they manipulate their turns voting at certain times to disguise the end means. This new age of blackmail amendments are a means to slowly degrade democracy! Did anyone else notice how Trump was able to turn the DACA issue on the democrats the other day? And I've heard no rebuttal as of yet from them. And now we have 2 of the most war mongering people being installed into an already horrific administration with war mongering military men in it. Like Trump said, he wants to bring the country together, rather, without a national crisis. Another 9/11 event coming soon!?! And these people will support another large scale war blissfully, again.
How biased is your news source? You probably won’t agree with this chart - MarketWatch
You portray yourself as having an 'open mind to politics'. But, I remember you quite well from that original post and your comment was antisemitic. Nothing 'open' about condemning a race/religion in totality. Before you rail against others for not meeting your standards, you need to look inward, my 'friend'. The world's not here to serve you.
Feel free to show us what I said that leads you to make that accusation.
@William_Mary I'd have to go find it. this may take time but I'll be back...
@William_Mary I have tried and failed to find the comment. Without proof, I can only offer my sincerest apology for calling you out in a public post. I hope you'll accept an apology? I think I can actually hit delete if that would be your preference?
@crazycurlz I agreed to someone's comment on the majority of our MSM being owned by Jewish decent. With 6 people, families, or groups owning something like 90% of the MSM content we get on TV, he was right. He may have put a racist way of putting it, I simply agreed with what he said. There are a lot of Jewish people in our country and abroad that don't agree with what Israel is doing today, I support them. You'd be better to call me out on being a Zionist movement hater than a Jewish racist. Which I lump these MSM owners in. All is fine curlz. We'll work it out one way or the other. I'll go back and find it this weekend and give it another look to see if I should have been more diligent in my way of addressing it.
@William_Mary Thank you for responding. And maybe this was my complaint. When you say things like this 'majority of our MSM being owned by Jewish decent' where are you getting this? What are your sources. Hollywood had a lot of Jewish directors. Does that make them the majority? I don't know. Haven't looked into it. Also, there aren't a lot of Jewish people to begin with. 1-2% of the population of the world is Jewish. It's total distraction for real dictators to focus attention on the Jews.
Also, regarding Zionism: the Jewish population in Israeli was small before Israel became a nation. In the wake of WWII and the holocaust/shoah, the British realized they had to do something for the Jews. In all fairness, the Europeans didn't want them, the Americans were late in opening our doors. The British could have done a better job on this arrangement but they didn't. They didn't either when they pulled out of India. The Jews in Israel were attacked right off by the Palestinians. Did you expect them not to defend themselves? Especially after the events of WWII? The Jews in Israel have had their backs to the wall since inception. Do you think the Arabs, other nations, helped the Palestinians? Of course not. They set them up in camps and used them as the focus of their fight against the West. To lump all of this on the backs of the Israelis is to lack understanding of the dynamics of the whole region, to ignore antisemitism in the world.
I am in agreement that Netanyahu is not the right leader for Israel. I wish that the Jews of Israel who want a 'healthier' relationship with the Palestinians were at the forefront of this fight because they are a large population. But, like any country, any democracy, it's a struggle for rational voices to be heard.
Much more to discuss. Thank you for accepting my apology
@crazycurlz Time Warner- Robert Marcus, Chairman, of Jewish decent. Until 2016, bought out by Charter Communications. I can't get a hit on the 2 key people in position today of the company, Bickham and Rutledge, but Bickham is a Jewish name. Robert Allen Iger - Disney -Before Disney, Iger served as the president of ABC Television from 1994 to 1995 and the president and chief operating officer (COO) of Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. from 1995 until Disney's acquisition of the company in 1996. Iger was born to a Jewish family in New York City. Viacom CEO - Robert Bakish. Also a Jewish name tied to Bulgaria. CBS Corporation - Leslie Moonves Jewish. Moved to CBS from Viacom mentioned above. NBC - Ron Meyer, also of Jewish decent. That's 5 of the 6 news media monopolies, the other being News Corporation, owned by Rupert Murdoch that control, I underscore control, what the mainstream media feeds the minds of the US population through TV and radio. The only one I have reservations on is Viacom. I wish I would have found more on this guy. It's almost like he doesn't exist. And one or 2 of these companies are trying real hard to grab more control. I've done this work before but did it again to make a point. I don't get on comments boards to spread hate but to offer another outlet for fact. The reason you couldn't find the post is because it was reported, flagged, and removed. I take it personally to have been lumped into someone's racist tone when all I did was provide another way of looking at the situation and I have facts to back up what I said. You might find the following article interesting.
And maybe this video interview by Abby Martin to how the climate of propaganda has taken control of mass thought on many.
@William_Mary oh my god you believe in conspiracy theories.
@crazycurlz nice managed perception reply. I spent my time doing that work for you to provide you a realistic view to think on, and you give me a mirrored cognitive dissonance in an attempt to degrade me. I take that as a complement. Thank you.

I found the Market Watch chart interesting but biased differently than I would do it. Except for PBS, they didn't include my news sources in their chart. I mainly watch news on youtube, with my mainstay being The Young Turks,
The Jimmy Dore Show,
Al Jazeera English,
PBS News Hour
The first two are strongly progressive. Al Jazeera English must be biased, but I haven't tried to label it. PBS News Hour seems pressured to be Neoliberal (right) because of who funds them, but some reporters seem liberal (left).
IMO most Washington Politicians are working for multinational corporations, and since the Citizens United decision, are openly heading for fascism. Most of them are climate deniers, and believe they should be tried for crimes against humanity in the World Court. We need a constitutional amendment to void Citizens United. We need to start with new politicians in Washington, except for Bernie and a few others.
Citizens United is only a mere part of the problem. There was a cycle system to work around before it and after it. Voiding it will not change that cycle. They pay lawyers, lobbyist, and our politicians quite well to insure they get what they want.
@William_Mary True, but it is an important start at fixing the top. It is also necessary to work at the local and state levels. It cannot be permanently fixed, every generation must carve their own niche.
@EdEarl I would argue that what is important, is to stop voting within the 2 party system and vote for a party outside of that system. And the only progressive party with roots to be able to begin this is the green party. Which leads to and even more concerning issue. All those stuck in the illusion a 3rd party can't win who refuse to step out of the other illusion.
@William_Mary I'm willing to vote for another party
@EdEarl hopefully one that isn't bought by the same entities as the main 2 parties.
@William_Mary of course, but they will try
The majority of this group are far left Trump hating liberals.
I haven't seen that here yet. Feel free to explain how you developed that opinion. All interaction I've been a part of or seen are of people who refuse to fall for the hate divisive tactics and have voiced dismay towards both parties. Which those tactics seem to ring loudly in your reply. While we have a degree of dislike for Trump, maybe even hate by some, we can also disprove of the actions of both parties. Maybe you need to take a careful look at the title again! Anti Democrat Party Liberals. I can't speak for everyone in this (particular group) on this site, but I think you might have confused us with the larger body of the main site where I do see a ton of what you mentioned. The founder and I are largely the main posters in this group, and I can fairly assure you the 2 of us haven't made our sole bitch about Trump, but both establishments.
@William_Mary maybe start your own group that fits your level of intelligence and point of view?
@btroje I've been thinking of that. Tossing names around in my head. Something more in line with the news sources I follow for actual fact finding world news against empire building.
