Attacking The Source: The Establishment Loyalist’s Favorite Online Tactic

You find yourself going back and forth with one of those high-confidence, low-information establishment types who’s promulgating a dubious mainstream narrative, whether that be about politics, war, Julian Assange, or whatever. At some point they make an assertion which you know to be false–publicly available information invalidates the claim they’re making.

{And, for the record, Bellingcat’s lead trainer/researcher guy responded to my arguments by saying I’m a conspiracy theorist. I personally count that as a win.}

I love it when someone calls me a conspiracy theorist. It gives me evidence I'm in discourse with someone who is likely ignorant, has no desire to think for them self via examining opposing information, suffers from cognitive dissonance, or has an agenda to help spread the conditioning narrative. If gives me reason to go directly to {don't argue with an idiot, they'll only bring me down to their level and beat me with experience.}

I think you're a conspiracy theorist but that's not a bad thing.. Is it?

We're all conspiracy theorist. It's in our nature. We all have theories we dream up, we conspire to enact on them. But that's the point. The CIA using the media has taken a natural human trait and turned it into a weapon. Engineers, scientist, inventors, etc, have theories, they conspire to make them a reality.

"I think you're a conspiracy theorist but that's not a bad thing" you provided me a theory, did you not? What that means to you can only be in the means as to how you deliver it.

So today as to yesteryear. Today when people on many occasions deliver that term it instantly resembles a bad thing. But yesteryear it was merely 2 words put together meaning someone was using their mind and abilities to create.
