For me, Classic Music was an acquired taste. Once I acquired the taste, my appetite has been insatiable. For nearly 25 years now, my appreciation for the Classical genre has grown exponentially... I don’t know that I have a favorite composer. As so as I mention one composition another comes to mind. Honestly, it depends on my mood... Currently, however, I am fascinated with the artistry of Sibelius... I will say, Baroque is my favorite epoch...

I too am partial to the Baroque period, primarily instrumental pieces on guitar/lute and keyboard, and secondarily violin. Favorite composers here include Bach, Weiss, Scarlatti, Losy, Visee, and Handel. The other period I am most partial to is Late-Romantic, of which Sibelius is classed, though I have not yet taken to much of his music. Favorites here include Scriabin, Rachmaninov, Szymanowski, Brahms, and Medtner. I enjoy the contrast provided by Classical Music as a complement to forms of music which have a backbeat. For this reason I also have an interest in Jazz and various other musics.
