I work at Target, and I think every day about how I'd like to organize a union there, especially now that summer is here. Our thermostat is set is Minneapolis. I'm in New Orleans, and the weather is a lot different here than in Minnesota. I sweat from the time I get there to the time I leave. The pay is ok- they start at $15, but the benefits suck. The health insurance doesn't cover ANYTHING until you've paid about $1200 out of pocket.
I’ve noticed that a lot of stores are keeping the temperature much warmer than usual, I don’t know how workers handle it. I suppose if one complained about it they would be looking for a new job since so many states have adopted policies that are harmful to their employees.
I worked at a Target back in about 1990 and it was the same thing, only worse pay. The benefits have always sucked, except for what they give management. Same way everywhere with retail jobs.
That’s why the corporate assholes hate Unions. Unions made life a lot more fair.
The best jobs I ever had were union jobs, reasonable hours, fair pay, and good working conditions.

Posted by William_MaryA symptom of perception management. The program was completed when the vast amount of the American citizenship became compliant to the delivery of MSM information. [consortiumnews.com]
