This is an 'Olla'. It's a clay pot without glaze that's been fired to a very low temperature and remains porous. You bury it in the garden and plant your veggies next to it and fill with water. It's a subsurface drip irrigation system. It slowly, and I do mean slowly, seeps water into the surrounding soil. A few years ago I made quite a few and sold them and I'm thinking of doing it again!
