Funny, I just joined this group yesterday and just a little while ago some Jehovah’s Witnesses came to my door. They were very close friends of my parents and I had spent most of my adolescence with a crush on their daughter who was also my sisters best friend.
I didn’t know what to say. They didn’t recognize me since it has been 22 years and I have gone from 18 and extremely skinny to quite fat and 39 with a greying beard.
I just said “I’m Brian”. She started to say “Hi Brian nice to meet you.....” and I said “No, I’m Brian Filcek” and they turned and walked away.
I don’t know how I feel now. I’m not an alcoholic but I have the rest of the day off today so now I’m sitting on my back porch grabbing some beer.

I had a crush on a baptized witness which was a lot of my motivation for being baptized... And I still wasn't able to ever hang out with her at events, so I said fuck this.

Yeah she’s still a witness and I heard she has twins now. No big deal I guess. It was just weird seeing her parents like that. We had spent a lot of time together when I was younger.
