This us, and we has been going on for about ever in this nation.
The major aspect of this nation that draws people together (or apart) in unity for one another is the mutual understanding and earning of money. Greed/capital really.
What your OP comment is mentioning is unconditional love, and the truth of the matter is, that is not of America, for that affection is not found in money.
Money drives America US, not good deeds or love. (Unless it makes money or power!)
@Willow_Wisp We did but the next election isn't written in stone and I'm not seeing a whole lot of love. I would like to, though.
