Any thoughts or suggestions about local atheist/skeptic in the area?
I'm a former Christian and was in the habit of going to church every Sunday. I like having my Sunday mornings free now, but miss feeling more involved in a local community. I've tried a Sunday Assembly and a Skeptics In The Pub a few times, but haven't quite convinced myself to '' these .
I would be interested in hearing if there are any suggestions or experiences regarding local .
Haven't Sunday Assembly. What is it? I attended a Saturday afternoon meeting of the Skeptics at the Vancouver library which was interesting but next time I attend I think I will try to take a slightly different approach to the meeting.
Sunday Assembly is a secular group that meets monthly and has volunteer and social groups. The monthly meeting I visited seemed like a secular twist on a church meeting. It was located at a McMenamins, they sang pop songs, had announcements, and a guest speaker made a presentation instead of a sermon. I had a good time, but it sounded like they were trying to sort-out their direction when I visited. I couldn't find the date of their next meeting on their website.
