Migraine sufferers??
My migraines stay forever. The longest was about 14 days. Iām on at least day 5 now. Anyone else have crazy long duration? How do you break it, or can you??
Botox injections every three months for prevention (those help a lot but you need insurance it's expensive).
Verapamil ER/ Calan SR - also preventative - once daily. A blood pressure med..
Frova. Migraine rescue. A step up from MaxAlt or Imitrex - one of the newer drugs for migraine. I still have to lie down for an hour or two when I get one.
Magnesium 1000 mg a day - 500 mg morning 500 mg evening.
Talk to a Doctor about any of that and I'd also recommend a B-Complex Vitamin with C - the same issues that cause Migraine sufferers to have very low Magnesium also cause us to have poor B-Vitamin retention and you need the C to absorb it.
I know they said no to alternative therapies, but have you tried relaxation/ meditation techniques? I started doing relaxation techniques for 20 min a day and it makes a huge difference in pain. If you can tune your body into the pain and 'let it go' while meditating. Try talking to a mind body therapist or someone who specializes in it that can help you.
My wife did. Let me check and get back to you. I think we had her hospitalized and they tested different regimens. She had thunderbolt migraines. Just terrible.

Posted by scurryWe suffer, sometimes in silence, sometimes alone, but we are also strong and we fight. Never Give Up. I wish you all many spoons.

Posted by scurryHappy New Year! I wish you all many extra spoons. The holidays can be super stressful and I hope we all made it through in one piece. Take time for self care and be sure to use your spoons wisely.
Posted by scurryRegardless of if we believe in Santa, Satan or Spaghetti Monsters, this time of year can be draining; family gatherings, work parties, reconnecting with old friends.
