Religion is divisive :

One of our recent victories in Ohio ended up proving a longstanding point of ours: Religion is a divisive force in public schools.
“Some West Branch Schools students say their academic environment has become tense after the district curtailed prayer before athletic events in January,” the Youngstown paper reported. “‘It’s kind of like a civil war,’ said senior student Mikayla Barker.”

Exactly our point, Mikayla! Why was prayer allowed at the school in the first place?

"It is illegal for a public school to sponsor religious messages at school athletic events," FFRF Legal Director Rebecca Markert wrote to West Branch Local School District Superintendent Timothy Saxton. "The Supreme Court has continually struck down school-sponsored prayer in public schools. Moreover, the Supreme Court has specifically struck down invocations given over the loudspeaker at public school athletic events."
