Because, and this can’t be stressed enough, the Abrahamic religions have subjugated an entire gender for centuries. The Old Testament says women are second class and inferior to men and their normal bodily functions are unclean punishments for sin. More than half the population have been denied equal rights based on this stupid fiction and they continue to use it as an excuse to take away hard fought rights.
