I have dark moods where making something a bit off or "ugly" helps me get over it sooner...I like making Junker Jane type of dolls the most...here is one I made for myself but after I felt better, my friend wanted it so I gave it to her...the second doll is similar in style, but is made of vintage kimono fabrics...it was sent to my friend in Denmark who collects odd dolls...

@thinktwice my daughter is an artist and Tim Burton Fan. Art is therapeutic.
@gigihein Yes, it is...I think artists and musicians create to stave off some of the emotions that are so strong...it helps us balance...
@thinktwice and helps those with same feelings that may not create art but, appreciate it and are helped by it.

oh...I just put two similar ones side by side...Are you familiar with Junker Jane dolls?
@thinktwice you sent me some photos (of which I rudely did not respond properly to) when I posted photos of my fairly ugly dolls.
@weelittleone I am extremely in love with ugly dolls...disturbing and to me, artistically compelling...I want to expand in that area, but I think it frightens my friends and family when I do this as they are concerned about my mental health, when in fact, making such things helps me...

@weelittleone Your post reminded me of what I love...I have several doll heads and parts already cannibalized...I plan on using my collection of rusty found things and perhaps even my dried insect collection...uhm...ok...I am shutting up now...lol
