I lived in Alaska for many years and know that most of my fellow Alaskans have been against the Pebble Mine and the ruin of one of the last pristine salmon fisheries left on this planet. The mining companies have been re-energized with this administration. Ugh.

I worked in the fishing industry in Bristol Bay for several years. The Pebble Mine is a disaster waiting to happen for many people who live and work there. Not to mention the salmon. They need clean, healthy ecosystems like the rivers and streams in AK in order to survive.

A sad state of affairs. Wildlife loses, people lose, but corporations win.

Posted by TO_BYI'm remembering Sam for Memorial Day. He died over this last year. A memorable street-performance artist up here. He originally hailed from Tonga. Big spirited. Loved America.
