This would make a great road trip on the west coast of Oregon
A former partner loved lighthouses and we once actually made that trip. The Heceta Head lighthouse was the best. I believe that is the one with the cave where you get to see (and really smell) a cove of sea lions. Years later my late partner and I visited Florence, just in time for the annual motorcycle rally. Needless to say we didn't stay long.
Funny, caveat. The former partner loved lighthouses and always wanted to be in some organization that supported them. She left the state and, just by coincidence, I am now active with 3 lighthouses: Patos (on Patos Island), Turn Point Lightstation (on Stuart Island) and Cattle Point (on San Juan Island).

Posted by TO_BYI'm remembering Sam for Memorial Day. He died over this last year. A memorable street-performance artist up here. He originally hailed from Tonga. Big spirited. Loved America.
