Born and raised in the Republican cornfields of Indiana. (I apologize for Mike Pence, former governor of Indiana. I was horrified to learn that he would be our president-in-charge-of-vice.) I grew up on farms and to this day cherish my farm background. Discovered a consuming interest in ornithology at age 14. Started keeping bees at the age 15 and did so for the next 50 years. To this day I remember vividly the thrill of hiving my first swarm of bees. When I shook the branch they were clustered on they fell to the sheet I had spread in front of their new home and like 10,000 compass needles they turned and "flowed" into the hive." I was enthralled!! Kept bees for 50 years. Spent 20 years in the nursery and landscaping business and all the while an active & committed conservationist
Lived on the headwaters of the Tippecanoe River and organized the Tippecanoe chapter of the National Audubon Society 40+ yr. ago. Was in education for 17 years pursuing my passion for wildlife biology, wildlife photography and teaching. Photographed produced and marketed six multimedia environmental education programs on "The Honeybee", "Birds of Indiana", "Hunters in the Sky" (raptorial birds only), "Snakes Alive!" (Indiana species), "The Beaver Pond" (ecosystem) and "The Woodland Indians". Raised three kids whom I brag about to keep 'em humble. Moved to California in 2016 to watch my great-grand children grow up. Their parents are doing a fine job of raising very well adjusted children. I have assumed responsibility to provide the counterbalance to their effort. My wife passed 22 years ago. I don't like being alone. I am looking for some special qualities. . .
