Hello there. I joined this site to chat with and meet like-minded people, and perhaps also a like minded woman with similar interests where there's is a spark for a new relationship.
I'm atheist who grew up in a sort of catholic home. About when I was in college, my father told me that he didn't feel like god was in one place far away, he felt like god was in everything everywhere... I told him that he sounds more like druid or wikkan than catholicism. ;-D
Anyhow, I'm not one to talk on about religion or my dislike of it all the time, but I'm big on secularism and like to be around people who don't have an imaginary omnipotent, omnipresent best friend. People should be free to believe what that want, but if someone wants to base government policy on rules set by their imaginary friend, that's when I get "angry atheist" about things.
I love getting outdoors, hiking, biking, canoeing etc and international . I work in cyber security (I keep hackers out of hydro electric dams and power plants) and in my free time I help run a no profit that does humanitarian development work focused on education and sanitary drinking water in rural NE Nicaragua. (check us out at www.ProjectSchoolhouse.org) . I'm excited about the difference we have been able to help some xommunities make in the lives of hundreds of families.
My education background are college degrees in Anthropology, Engineering, and a MBA. As well, I'm native level fluency in Spanish (which is great when traveling in Latin America). I'm a fan of science shows and some sci-fi (Interstellar, the Martian) and science & tech in general. I love the perspective & understanding that science brings us on reality of our own lives, society and world; evolutionary psychology and stellar nucleosynthesis were equally mind opening to me. #BigNerd
I enjoy getting out for a hike or bike in a trail, checking out new breweries, trying new food (I think Thai may forever be my favorite), going for a swim in a spring-fed swimming hole, etc.
