Fear is what makes most afraid to make that decision and to go beyond the doctrine that's been ingrained into us is quite the show of strength. Give it time. Dogs get jealous too.
IAJO163 replies on Apr 25, 2018:
Very jealous! I met someone who had a jealous protective dog. He didn't bark, he just growled all the time. he would lay by the bed and growl very loudly when we made love, as if it was supposed to be him, lol. I attempted to socialize myself with him and take him for walks etc. to no avail. The bastard bit me one day and I almost lost a finger. I didn't leave. He eventually got sick and it was I who carried him to his last visit to the vet. When my purported non believing partner was faced with the knowledge that this would be the last time she would see him she looked up into the sky and asked that deity why. I knew then that our relationship was on the downside. It all worked out for the better.
Some 83 percent of all black Americans are absolutely certain that God exists.
Athos comments on Apr 24, 2018:
Do you mean with the percentage or with the allegation that these people are absolutely certain that a particular entity exists?
IAJO163 replies on Apr 25, 2018:
The percentage, yes. No one is born a believer. A personal gripe of mine is introducing children to religion at an early age instead of waiting until their cognizant of it and possess better reasoning capabilities.

Marriage is a biblical and legal contract. Why would you care if you're an atheist? Are you afraid that some deity will be angry with you because you cheated? Just how deep is the Christian philosophy embedded in us? Do what you need to do if you're getting a divorce anyway.
IAJO163 replies on Apr 18, 2018:
@kusch64 He could still be committed respectfully without the handcuffs of marriage. Why so pressured?

I’ve always hated the “it’s all part of god’s plan” thing. Who would plan to make only some people healthy? That said how is it different to teach any person about god? Just as troubling.
IAJO163 replies on Apr 4, 2018:
I wonder about that too. Why not Blame a deity for the bad things that happen? Beyond prayer, why can't someone put in a support ticket and get some results.

Yes it is too bad / so sad but developmentally challenged people often have magical beliefs and because that's all they're capable of we play along. It's too bad when the adults who are responsible for those folks are not just *playing* along but *sharing* the beliefs. It shows how challenged they ...

In my experience, women seem to be pretty subtle about their hints or conversely, maybe I just am not looking for them. This is a weird question - it assumes that religious people follow a "moral code" from whichever "holy" book they follow - but in fact they cherry-pick the bits they want to follow (no killing, stealing, etc) and ignore the bits they know are wrong (kill your children if they're rude to you, go to ...

How comfortable are you with the word "Atheist" ?
Saudade comments on Nov 12, 2017:
i am not an atheist. i am simply a non-believer. i also, generally speaking, never have felt like a blanket label of any kind has fit me properly. to me, to consider myself atheist would be to assert that i know there is not a god or gods - a certainty. that would be foolish in my estimation....
IAJO163 replies on Mar 21, 2018:
Saying "god" or "gods" gives an air of superiority to something. The question will always be posed, "where did we come from?" Someone or thing created life but do we have to bow or serve it? Not in my world. Sticks and stones ... the word Atheist shouldn't hurt and it's a powerful label to wear.
