I was raised in an Irish Catholic family, then at 14 got involved in a fanatical nondenominational church. I actually have a certificate of ministry from their bible college and was in it for about 12 years. Some circumstances in my life woke me up to the fact that I was in a cult, so I started studying other religions. I think there is some sort of energy behind the universe, maybe even sentient, but God as presented in the book religions doesn't make sense to me. I'm all about the common threads in all religions, things like kindness, respect, and personal responsibility.
