I'm a social worker by profession. I work primarily with older adults at risk of or dealing with homelessness, hoarding, or unmet health needs. It's definitely interesting, challenging, sometimes aggravating, and often rewarding.
If I had to say how long l've been atheist for sure, then I would say about 9 months, although I was de-converting for much longer.
I enjoy numerous outdoor activities, fossil collecting, astronomy, camping, fishing, and hiking. But I also enjoy leisure hanging out at the house, reading, watching movies, etc. I love learning about the world around me, so I am open to anything that helps me achieve that.
My taste in music is mostly '80s rock/metal, and I enjoy edgy comedy (Patton Oswalt is among my favorites). My last dog died not too long ago, and I'm not ready for another pet yet, but I love dogs and am tolerant of cats. The last book I read was "God Emperor of Dune."
I know it sounds cliche, but I am a real life Eagle Scout... trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind... you get the idea. I have 2 sons, 16 & 19, also both Eagle scouts whom I am very proud of- they live with their mother. I am a nonprofit social worker- I have a comfortable lifestyle, but you don't go into the field to get rich. Rather, you go in to change lives. Give me a chance to change and fulfill yours!
