I was raised Catholic and became a born-again at college. I became an evangelist and musician and ended up being a worship pastor/leader for eleven years.Through the years, I jettisoned many of the hard-line beliefs and eventually unwound after a 2 1/2 year painstaking search over why I believed and how the bible was assembled. Now, I'm enjoying my life as a free-thinker and have started a Recovering From Religion in Wheaton, IL. Seeing life without the filter of faith simply requires greater courage in my own abilities. And as my sister and best friend have both told me, I'm still the same absurdly ridiculous person I was when I was a "believer".
