I’m not the most extroverted guy, but my friends might disagree with me. I love social interaction, but I also enjoy my quiet time. For fun, I enjoy going out for sushi or drinks on a patio, live music, comedy shows, jazz & blues bars, museums, and much more. Music is a passion of mine. My taste includes folk/acoustic, jazz, blues, swing, 70s, 80s, 90s, ambient, new age, indie & classical. You get bonus points if you’re familiar with Poi Dog Pondering, the Old 97s, Beth Orton, Dar Williams or Murder by Death. My favorite place for live music is Opening Bell Coffee in the South Side on Lamar building near downtown Dallas, and I often head out to The Goat for live blues.

On weekends, I can often be found at the dog park with my sweet pit bull, Rosie, at a friend's house watching football (during football season), or just hanging out at home doing yard work or vegging out in the pool or hot tub.

I don't eat as healthy as I should, but I go to the gym around 4 or 5 days a week. Even on days when I feel lazy, I always feel great after an intense workout of weights & cardio.

I love the French language (I speak it fairly well - for a tourist) & have been to Paris three times. I've also been to London, Bruges (Belgium), Toronto, Seville (Spain), and several places in southern Portugal (Lisbon, Sintra, the Algarve on the southern coast). Norway is on my bucket list. I love to travel & don't mind traveling alone, but I'd love to have a travel companion. It's important to get out of the American "bubble" once in awhile.

Science intrigues me & I'm fascinated by astronomy. I took two semesters of biology in college & loved it. If you don't believe in evolution, we probably won't be a match.

I work for a great software company and always have multiple projects going on at any given moment. I have a strong work ethic, but any of my friends will tell you I can be a bit silly. Being over 40 doesn’t mean you have to be an old fart!

Who would I like to meet? Qualities I look for are down-to-Earth, laid back, and easy to talk to. I often come across as talkative at first, but I certainly understand the value of listening. Respect for animals is a must. I prefer to meet someone who is politically liberal (like me - absolutely NO Trump supporters!). I know that drastically lowers my dating pool in this big red state, but I prefer quality over quantity any day.

I believe a strong connection is based on chemistry, having things in common, good conversation, and just having fun.
