I am a geologist with over 40 years of experience. I earned my BA in Geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1976 and my MS in Geology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces in 1988. I’ve worked in geothermal energy exploration and in water resources. I’ve lived and worked in more than a dozen states from Alaska to Florida. I’ve also worked overseas. I also am the Executive Director of a Florida Defenders of the Environment, a nonprofit organization based in Gainesville, Florida. FDE was founded in 1969 to stop the Cross Florida Barge Canal project on the Ocklawaha River. I started teaching at Santa Fe College in the summer of 2016
