Funny and sad at the same time.

Brilliant! I had a very little go at learning Irish from some cassette tapes that I bought from the Sein Fein shop on the Falls Rd in Belfast. I remember trying out my new skills on a lady at the Irish Centre in Leeds where I was living at the time. 'Oh!' she said 'Thats Maze Irish. We don't speak like that.' 😉

for some reason one of the phrases that has stuck in my head for over 30 years is
ta se fuar ach ta se tirim - it is cold but it is dry 🙂
