OK, so I live in Texas and people here take religion pretty seriously. Anyway, when I was around 19 or 20, my friends and I were driving around the next town over. We knew people there too and we bumped into this friend ours that was stranded in a gas station so we offered to give him a ride. He was a goth guy and he wore the clothes and make up and everything so when he invited us to a rave, my friends and I were all for it. As he's giving us directions to this place, we all were confused and weirded out but we were still polite and nobody said anything when he told us to park in front of some church/congregation building but we followed the guy and inside was loud industrial music, glow sticks and other people wearing black, all gothed out and they were dancing. There was no beer or alcohol whatsoever. We were there for an hour... My friends were dancing when suddenly one of the gothed out people stops the music, asks for our attention, tells us his life story, and asks us to pray!!
It turns out he was the pastor of that congregation! It was a recruiting trap!!! My friends were somewhat religious and I was the only non believer but in that moment, we were all equally disappointed. We went along with it and we snuck out as soon as the lights went off again and we neeeever went back.

Wow that sounds super awkward! I wouldn't be able to get out of there fast enough.

Yeah, I couldn't believe they were literally setting up a trap... Worst experience if my life
