Arggh. The people who just checked out my BnB are the first people in 2 years to leave a sink full of dirty dishes, and just trash everywhere (they went shopping and cut all the tags off which were all over the floors). They also went through every paper towel (there are 40+ dish towels on the baker's rack for use) and the dining room carpet is covered in big crumbs/food debris.
On top of that....they told me they went swimming at the Fairfield Inn (where the rest of their family was staying) and I found 2 big white towels down my laundry chute. I KNOW THEY STOLE THEM from Fairfield.
Bastards.

There is a deposit to cover damage and theft but not just extra cleaning. I will block them from booking again. ?
That's exactly the sort of thing that makes me have doubts about opening a BnB. Sorry to hear that you had a couple of stinkers for guests, lets hope they don't murder you in the Reviews section of Air BnB as icing on the cake.

Maybe Skotland could review the guests and strike a preemptive blow!!
No kidding, why doesn't Air BnB have a review for guests so you can pick and choose your guests? I'd offer discounts to 5 star guests and ban the 1 star assholes that ruin the experience of running a BnB.
@SkotlandSkye is there a guest review system on Air BnB? if there isn't then there should be. Thieves are a real pet peeve of mine.
@Surfpirate all of that is the Part of the review process for Airbnb, VRBO, and Trip Advisor. You can block people who were given bad reviews by other hosts. However, like in the case of these people, they had never used Airbnb before so there were no previous reviews. Obviously when I review them I will give them a thumbs down and not recommend them to any future host. However they can easily open an account in the wife’s name since this was in the husbands name.
@SkotlandSkye Thanks I didn't know that about Air BnB as I have only been on the guest side of things. I think it makes a lot of sense that the hosts get to review the guests as much as the guests get to review the host.
