I do the same. Or at least try to find a spot with open spaces on either side. Then get upset when I come back out and someone has parked next to me.

Maybe, but I'm assuming you go inside where the people are though. How does your parking habits reflect introversion, but going to populated locations doesn't? Easier to park farther away, that's probably more likely the reason? Or fear of damage? Maybe it's a thing. Park where you like! I generally only pull through spots, regardless of the distance from the entrance. Which makes me wonder... If the lot is empty, do you still park far away?

Most people I know do it to avoid door dings. When I'm at the gym I don't like to have people next to me on the treadmill. I like my space.

I park away from everyone else because I don't like parking lot traffic jams
