Santa Anita shutdown after 19 horses died in 2 months! What is going on? Anyone been keeping up with this?
Apparently, much higher than average rainfall caused issues with the surface. They closed the track for a few days to work on and inspect the surface, and it was deemed safe. There has now been a few days of racing without incident, but more rain is expected. Hopefully, they can keep up with the maintenance and keep the horses safe.
