Not bad. I would have actually placed their sound closer to Death's pre-Human work. I'm not the hugest Death fan (the band or the genre), but Human is my favorite of the band (it was my introduction to them, and maybe? extreme metal in general, which I took a gamble on and picked-up in a pawn shop), and I like a few tracks from their later albums. I find this just a bit plodding, which is why I favor Melodeath which tends to be more fluid and have more variety. And when it gets more extreme I would describe it more as vicious rather than brutal.

@Rossy92 I can relate to that Human was the album that hinted to Chuck's more melodic direction. Masterpiece. The drumming in Human is inhuman... Matt Harvey of EXHUMED is the founder of GRUESOME If you've heard any EXHUMED. You'll understand the earlier leprosy type DEATH era sound of his music . They do an amazing tribute to GRAVE.as well .. busy muso. . . Keep well . Life's not easy at present.

@Rossy92 Tobin Abashi .. Animals are leaders. Their debut album is great. One I could play once a week, till I die. . I like the instrumental. No vocalist..

@Seriousreason Had to check my WMP and I have some Exhumation but not Exhumed. Exhumation's guitarist has been in Nightrage since its inception. From a compilation I know one Grave song , "Lovesong", which is a kick. Haven't been listening to much metal lately. The last 2 times I've posted anything I accidentally came across a song on my computer I wasn't that familiar with which made me take notice, and spontaneously decided to post them. Not much into Djent, but AAL I may need to give a more in depth try one day.

@Rossy92 AAL will be worth a listen, especially if your reducing your Metal consumption.. Ale ..

I'm more so into Melodeath, but did enjoy this and will check out the album. Just as I was about to say this is like if Death was a groove metal band, in came a subdued guitar interlude, and then they break out freakin' saxophones lol!

@Rossy92 Melodearh.. Progressive is probably a term not a often used But River's of Nihil are definitely mixing up the ranges and still passing off as metal. well worth a listen. Personally I like my extreme brutal stuff. But these guys are kinda .play for your mum type beautiful songs. . Glad you like . I'm a fan now..
