@pixiedust Well it was winter, and heated by a smelly kerosene stove. You wake up in the morning and there is a foot of mist on the floor, but the swans tapping on the window were cute.

@pixiedust You probably wouldn't if you had to get out of bed and walk through it to try to get the stove started and then go sit in the water closet and pump the handle to flush!

@fishline79 Maybe not. Although, in the first 2 years after I moved from the coast to the Prairies, I burned out 6 humidifiers trying to make fog in my bedroom.

@fishline79 You were young, brave and hardy then. Why were you in Amsterdam?

@pixiedust Long story. I met South Africans selling S.A. clothing from Swaziland in the Canary Islands who had a friend with a houseboat who was going to Singapore for 6 months and need someone trustworthy to "boat and cat-sit". I had no plans and thought I could play music in Amsterdam (which I did, some), so I (and my friend) stayed on the boat until he returned after which I went to Menorca to visit someone whom I met in Am*Dam who had a villa in Menorca. and stayed there for a couple of weeks, fell in love with Menorca and later went back and bought a house there. I played in Hotels and clubs for 15 years or so and still live there in the summer. see davidfishel.net
