If you had 6 months off work, where would you go?
I'm thinking of quitting my job in 2020 and taking a six month sabbatical during the northern hemisphere spring and summer. I think this would give me the opportunity to really travel somewhere in depth.
Which countries or regions of the world would you travel to if you had six months to do it in?

I toured the National Parks...just drove from park to park. My most favorite place was Chiricahua National Monument in Arizona...as a matter of fact, I spent nearly two weeks just in Arizona because of their parks. One of the best trips I ever did in the US...overseas, I would go back to Morocco, Greece, or Southern Spain.

While we are anxious to explore the rest of Europe, as well as check out Asia and Oceania, I definitely agree that no tour of the globe would be complete without getting a taste of the natural splendor the US has to offer. It always saddened me to see how few Americans we run into when visiting our national parks and monuments.

Iceland, Scotland, Romania/Carpathian Mtns, Nepal, Canada, Alaska/Yukon.... As much by train, boat, or road travel as possible. Good luck!

I did road trips around Iceland and Scotland last month. It was brilliant but not long enough so I'm back to work and dreaming of my next adventure.
Japan. Spend time with family, work on my language skills. I've thought about this in between jobs as well, just don't have the financial stability to do it. If there was a pleasure vacation during that time, Thailand. Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and maybe a little beach time down south. As much local living as possible.

My current job takes me to Japan and Thailand fairly often (which I love because my business partners take me to places way off the tourist map) but I may well be ready for somewhere different once I quit.
