I'm off to Italy for a month in June. I drive down every year but am looking for recommendations for places to stop and see on the way back. Getting tired of the same old stops.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.It’s a haul down there but go see the aeolian islands. Especially Stromboli. Hike up the volcano at night and watch it erupt. It will be a peak life experience.

Yes I've always wanted to do that. But I'm only going as far as Le Marche and the trip is long enough - as I'll be driving down on my own with two dogs (they're not much help, I'll have to save the islands for another trip! But thanks.
