several sources have picked up this story. It is very fun to speculate that Oumuamua could be an alien spacecraft, in particular, some sort of solar sail. We should chase it and go catch up to it now!!

[nbcnews.com]

The researchers aren't claiming outright that aliens sent Oumuamua. But after a careful mathematical analysis of the way the interstellar object sped up as it shot past the sun, they say Oumuamua could be a spacecraft pushed through space by light falling on its surface — or, as they put it in the paper, a "lightsail of artificial origin."

here is the original pdf speculative paper from Harvard:

The first, I believe, interstellar object with a Hawaiian name. I suppose a little payback for the nominal rent they pay (up to present) for use of Hawai'i's superb high mountains.

I don't think there'd be any way to catch it at this point. It's speed was one of the reasons we figured it was "alien" in origin. I don't think we have anything that could catch up to it. Pity.

I know... just shows how pitiful we still are...

@Lukian We're still young. Hopefully, we give ourselves a chance to mature!

@phxbillcee We are not young just retarded, held back maybe is a better way of saying it (wink)

@Lukian Jim Jefferies is great! & this is such a great bit!
