NASA presses ahead with Webb space telescope sunshield deployment.
Bill Ochs, the NASA project manager, said tightening up the sunshade's five hair-thin layers, carefully pulling them taut with motor-driven cables running through multiple pulleys, likely would take three days to complete. But by Monday night, three of the five layers had been pulled into shape, with the final two awaiting tightening Tuesday. [cbsnews.com]

Yay, good to know that.
I hear that exact positioning at L2 and balancing of the Webb in that orbit could take maybe five months.
@AnonySchmoose check the WheresWebb site on NASAs web site..it give you up to the minute details on where, how far and what to expect in prepping it for operations..
