The far side of the moon, illuminated by the sun, is seen as it crosses between our 'EPIC' camera on the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite, and the Earth - one million miles away.

It portrayed the moon's far side as a stage prop. On one board was "Act 2 Scene 3".
Perhaps I remember it cuz I was then employed in the Apollo program.

Nice! My BIL worked at NASA!
Then there was the Playboy cartoon, by Gahan Wilson, who often did 'toons for them, in which some fellow is looking out from his window telling his wife that she REALLY needs to "come see the moon tonight," as it is close, and large, enough to virtually blot out the rest of the sky.
