As afr as mars is concerned, the dust storm is still covering the entire planet. There is no detail of any kind visible. Such a shame as Mars right now is almost as large as it ever gets in a scope. We have about another month of decent size for Mars...

Going to disassemble my 30+ year old C8 just to clean the focuser shaft. Terrible image shift near the focal point, I hope that will fix it. Wish me luck, first time doing this.

I just took a look at Mars. Could barely make out a tiny polar cap and nothing else on the planet. Last week there were dark markings visible, so, yes the dust storm is in full swing. bummer for seeing any detail. Lets hope it subsides soon
