A friend called me about a young hawk with no parents in sight. It's a Broad-winged hawk (I'll add pics in the morning....it's sleeping now) and is not quite fledgling age (can barely perch or stand - which is why I would expect parents to be nearby to take care of it). I fed it some raw hamburger, which it took eagerly, until it was full. I'll call my avian vet in the morning and see what she recommends. As much as I would love to raise a hawk, I lack the experience and time, not to mention it's highly illegal without a falconer's license (which I sadly do not have).
