Here's an example of my wheel thrown pottery. A stoneware bowl about 6" across.

Oh! very nice, I love what you've done with rim. Do you make your own glazes and what cone is it fired to? I fired to around 5 and made a mottled brown glaze that looked very similar.

This is an Amaco Potter's Choice Shino fired at Cone 5 reduction in an updraft natural gas kiln.

@farmboy2017 I only fired electric but my goal in the ceramics class I took was to make my own glazes that somewhat mimiced reduction glazes - aced the class and the instructor thought I succeeded. But I would have loved to have had a reduction kiln.

@silverotter11 I learned doing cone 10 reduction in a downdraft natural gas kiln. What you might do is build a Minigama. It's a tiny wood kiln for 1or 2 pots.

@farmboy2017 LOL, I now live in an apartment complex - I do not believe management will allow it. When I had the 10 acres I chose to build a rake' kiln instead.

@silverotter11 I bet a raku kiln can hit mid-range stoneware temperatures. Mine will but it has 3 burners.

@farmboy2017 LOL, yes it did and I did fire a few things. It was on the small side and only needed one burner.

Very good!

Thank you!

@farmboy2017 I've done some potter's-wheel pottery years ago. I can appreciate the work that goes into that bowl!!

very nice! it almost looks like you took it apart and put it back together before it was fired. interesting Bowl.
