I'm a hiker, backpacker, and skier, and I live in Utah. Some of my favorite destinations:

Kings Peak (Utah's high point, High Uinta mountains)
Coyote Gulch (Escalante area)
Kolob Canyon (a primitive area in a lesser visited part of Zion National Park)
Naturalist Basin (High Uintas)

All these things are more fun with friends. If you're nearby or want to come out and explore, it might be fun to make it happen.

I've hiked and climbed Arches, Indian Creek area ( north six shooter) and grand gulch/ mule canyon.
Climbers have a name for virtually every spire out there. Do hikers bother with that much, or just the famous ones? (Castleton, Moses, the Titan, etc)

I usually hike to spots to pick up rock, and then hike back out. One day I'd like to go after some Dugway geodes near Topaz Mountain. If I ever make it out that way, I'll let you know.

Posted by CallMeDaveI've never been a big wildflower person, but this is the season for it here in Appalachia. Other people can identify every variety. I'm not there yet.
