Organized Religion is all about mind control as well. It’s never about thinking for yourself. But about brainwashing and scaring certain segments of the population into following blindly with promises of a better afterlife (Heaven), or if you behave in certain so-called “unacceptable ways”........ then you will suffer for eternity in misery in a place called “Hell”. I have been told lots of times that I would “Rot in Hell” over things like music choice, certain TV shows I watched, jokes that I made.......I came of age during Pres. Reagan’s era which was very conservative.......and it was during that time when I stopped attending weekly mass, and began undoing my mind from everything I learned from going to mass though it would still be another 9 or 10 years that I would declare myself a full blown Atheist..when I deal with jehovahs witnesses or others similar from trying to convert me I always tell them that I once attended church and they say they cannot understand how I became “Brainwashed and Immoral”. That’s when the conversation ends. I followed my conscience and will always feel I have done the right thing. Just live life as you see fit, your not going to please everyone and that others opinions are simply not your problem.

And personally I cannot understand all the hysteria regarding “Roe Vs Wade” The US Supreme Court has had the same makeup.........5 to 4 Conservative / Liberal for over 50 years. If they really were going to overturn it, wouldn’t they have done so already? All the overturn would do is just put the issue right back to the states to decide to enact pro abortion or anti abortion laws. Even before Roe, Abortion was legal in states like New York and California, and NY recently enshrined protections for abortion rights into state law.

If he had done something to physically or mentally harm you, or if he stole money or something really important or valuable to you, you would be justified. We are who we are, believe what we believe in. Among my relatives, friends there are boundaries. We know how to live with differences and remember the many other things in common between us and what makes us close to each other in the first place.

I’m not sure about outside the US, But the population in the US is either at a standstill or just barely growing at best. There are more baby boomers retiring from the workforce today than there are being replaced by younger workers. For one thing, the newer generations of millennials and gen. Z just aren’t interested in families like the earlier ones. Many of them are saddled with college debts of tens of thousands of dollars, which makes it almost impossible to save for other big items like home ownership or even children later on. Another thing I have NEVER heard anybody mention is the lack of good jobs available nowadays that have decent heath insurance or paid time off or vacation time, I could go on. Given these circumstances, how is it possible to have a family, save for necessities and other essentIal things? Until or unless this changes, the future sadly is not promising.

I’m a recovering heavy drinker, cocaine user, as well as a 3 pack a day cgarette smoker. It all comes down to individual strength, motivation and desire. It’s mind over matter. It’s no more cowardly to ask for help with an addiction than it is too ask for a cane or crutch to assist you in walking. I worked on my own rehab over 4 years to accomplish this by going easy and doing one thing at a time. I spent no time in rehab. Smoking was the most difficult, at least in the initial sense. Alcohol for me was totally different. When I broke my smoking addiction, the first 2 to 3 weeks were the toughest. Then it got much easier afterward. As far as the drinking goes, that was much easier at the start, but challenges you throughout your life as your always recovering and will always have a desire from time to time. But that isn’t by any means a bad thing for me........it just feeds into motivation to stay sober, as well as the memory of all the bad hangovers and side effects. It was during this period from 1989-1993 when I became a fierce non believer because I learned that one must truly help themselves first before they can ask for any. And that was the beginning of when I became a true nonbeliever and fully in self power.
