Idaho Game Commissioner Resigns After Killing 'Family Of Baboons' In Africa

"I recently made some poor judgments that resulted in sharing photos of a hunt in which I did not display an appropriate level of sportsmanship and respect for the animals I harvested," he wrote, according to Reuters."

[npr.org]

Absolutely disgusting! He's not ashamed he killed baboons, he's ashamed about how the picture showed him. Respect for the baboons would have been not killing them in the first place!

Trophy hunting hurts the population by removing the healthiest individuals from the gene pool. They're not the weakest and least, they're hunting the group of indiduals thar asdure the species fitness into the future. James Woods (actor) suggested that maybe we should issue hunting licences to hunt poachers. Radical yes, but perhaps we are reaching an extreme where maybe its not so radical. Add trophy huntrrs to those hunting permits as well.

Someday, the world will look upon those that murdered animals with the same horror that we look upon the Nazis and other human groups who destroyed nations, cultures, stole land, and murdered people.

There is no ethical difference between a baboon and murdered cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, etc.
If it is wrong to kill a baboon, it is equally wrong to kill a horse, a cow, a whale, a pig, a dog, a chicken, a cat...etc.
Just because something is "legal" doesn't make it ethical or moral -- even slavery and ownership of women were legal in very recent history. Just because "we've always done it" doesn't mean that we should keep on doing it -- that's a logical fallacy called an "appeal to tradition".

There is no such thing as "food animals". There are just animals -- nonhuman Earthlings -- who have every bit as much right to be here as the Earthlings.

Over 56 billion farmed animals are MURDERED every year by humans. These shocking figures do not even include fish and other sea creatures whose deaths are so great they are only measured in tonnes.

All lives matter....every single one of them.

Humans are way past the point of needing to enslave, exploit, imprison, and murder innocent beings.

Yeah, baboons? BABOONS? I don't have a problem with legal and sensibly regulated trophy hunting where the meat is harvested. Though granted, really, how sporting is it to shoot something? I'd prefer the only weapon be allowed is a spear and a knife. You take out a lion with a spear, yeah, that's impressive. A gun, not so much. But baboons are way too closely related to us, long past time where hunting them for sport should be allowed. Shocking lack of maturity and judgement on multiple levels. What an infantile POS this guy is.

Tho I don't hunt, I've known & understand many hunters over the years. The ones that actually eat what they kill & whose families have done so for many generations. Trophy hunting or wanton killing is disgusting, tho, & there is no decent reason for it.
