This is fascinating. It's too bad the crackpots chime in on so many threads.
@Donotbelieve There is that.
The work is exceptional. Hope they find the the rest of the stone.
This is the correct time and the correct location for a culture known as the Solutrean tradition, which is thought to be the progenitors of the Clovis tradition in the United States. A late glacial resurgence connected southern France with an ice sheet which covered all of Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland and Canada. it is believed that the Solutreans people were being starved out due to the extinction of large game. They followed the ice sheet edge and arrived in the North America about the same time as the Clovis tradition occurs here. The largest cluster of Clovis points occurs along the NE coast of the US. the technology is identical to the Solutreans technology. This is one of at least three migrations of peoples to North America post-15,000 BCE. DNA segments from the Ojibway tribes share similarities with that from Southern France, Northern Spain.

Posted by qpr81Trajan's column in Rome. Shame they put a pope on top of it. Even though this is a monument raised over a genocide it's still something worth seeing.
