I just found these woven rawhide porch chairs at the Habitat for Humanity store and am excited to have them. There's a little repair needed on one of them, but they're generally in good condition. I would appreciate any tips on conditioning and preserving the rawhide. I'm a little concerned that doing so may make it more attractive to passing wildlife (skunks or neighborhood pets) which might want to chew on it.
Nice chairs! I would have bought them too as they fit in with my Arts & Crafts style.
Cool chairs. I got some great ones last year that I need wide cushions for.
As an ethical vegan, I don’t own anything made from the skin of a being who wanted to live. I’m sure you can find information online but I personally would hold a funeral and either cremate those chairs or bury them. All I see is death.
There's something really creepy about wanting to sit on the skin of a dead being....it brings to mind Silence of the Lambs and the outfit made of skin....
also....skunks and other wildlife aren't "pests"....they are the original inabitants of your neighborhood and have every right to be there....their land was stolen. I have raccoons, rabbits, and squirrels on my property in town and they are welcome to share my yard with me.
